KATHLEEN MCKEE, ESQ. | DIRECTOR

Kathleen A. McKee was born and raised in upstate New York. She received her undergraduate education at the State University of New York at Albany where her major was English and French and her minor was Education.

She has taught in urban schools and college educational opportunity programs. She decided to go to law school in the 1970’s. She received her J.D. from the Columbus School of Law at Catholic University of America and a Masters of Law in Labor Law at Georgetown University Law Center.

Ms. McKee has worked for federal agencies, the United States Congress, and more recently federally funded legal aid programs. She is presently the Director of the Civil Litigation Clinic at Regent University School of Law. (The clinic gives law students the opportunity to serve low-income clients who are unable to afford an attorney in civil matters and victims of domestic violence). The areas in which she currently conducts legal research are human trafficking, violence against women, and international parental abduction.

Ms. McKee is also trained in general and family mediation. She is a Virginia Supreme Court certified mediator. Since her initial training and certification she has co-mediated family conflicts, business disputes, and intrachurch conflicts.
